Interactive and multimedia exercises can be used in the language classroom for different purposes, such as self-study and practice, self-assessment, revision or as part of an introductory lesson.

Usually interactive exercises can be either shared through a direct link to the exercise webpage or embedded in a blog, website or educational platform (such as the case of the application presented here).

 

On completion of this task, teachers:

What is LearningApps and how does it work?

LearningApps is a web 2.0 application that gives teachers the opportunity to create interactive and multimedia exercises that can be included as part of lessons or as self-study materials that can be assigned to students. The website is developed as a research and development project at Pädagogische Hochschule PHBern (Dr. Michael Hielscher, Prof. Dr. Werner Hartmann), in cooperation with Universität Mainz (Prof. Dr. Franz Rothlauf) and the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz (Prof. Dr. Christian Wagenknecht).

LearningApps.org is developed and maintained by the nonprofit organization LearningApps – interactive learning modules.

LearningApps is very easy to use, both for creating the activities and for completing the exercises. It allows for the creation of many different types of activities:
