Preparing for the Mobility Programme is an excellent opportunity for teachers to set assignments which draw on digital practices, while preparing students for their time abroad, through the target language. Acquiring these skills is fundamental to becoming pro-active language learners in their host country.
The curriculum is the main focus of students’ attention and a key driver of effort. Students are more likely to adopt digital practices that are clearly relevant to the programme they have chosen and the topics that interest them.
Supporting students to develop online competencies through their target language which are applied in real world contexts (e.g. finding accommodation in the host country), can be motivating, Digilanguages is designed to enrich the academic curriculum incorporating digital literacies and ICC development.
This section focuses on helping the students exploit the full potential of their limited time abroad and provides activities that encourage independent thinking and learning, with an emphasis on ICC through the target language.
