Martin Walton is Senior Lecturer in English at the departments of Business Management and Computer Science, Bayonne, and at the Doctoral School of Applied Sciences in the Université of Pau, south-west France.
His research has been more recently in the area of European Language Policy and Minority Languages, alongside the didactics of second-language learning and, in particular, the teaching and learning of pronunciation. In cooperation with IKER, the Basque research institute in Bayonne, he is at present working on a comparative study of language resources and language policy as regards Basque, Occitan, Catalan, Irish and Scots-Gaelic within their spoken language territories in Europe, while, in parallel, also focusing on criteria to improve learning tools for prosodic elements in L2.
